One method is by topic. For instance, if you are interested in the topic of prayer then you can do a web search on "bible prayer". That will give you articles with verses about prayer, which you can then use as lookup verses.
A second method is by a remembered Bible quote. What if you want to find the verse which says, "The Lord is my shephard, I shall not want"? Again, do a web search on whatever parts of the verse you remember. The verse reference will be listed in the search results for your use as the lookup verse.
